Many different animals are reptiles. Turtles, crocodiles and lizards are just some animals that are reptiles.
Snakes, alligators and tortoises are also reptiles.

Being cold-blooded means that reptiles need to get warm from the warmth of the sun. If they get too hot, they have to find shade to help them cool down.

Most reptiles lay eggs that have soft shells. They lay their eggs on land. Their babies grow inside the eggs. Then the babies hatch by breaking out of the shell.
