Pygmy marmoset
The pygmy marmoset is a monkey. In fact, it is the smallest kind of monkey on the planet!
They are so tiny, one can fit in your hand!
This monkey must watch out for a lot of predators. Wild cats, hawks and snakes all like to eat this tiny monkey.
But this monkey is good at watching out. It can turn its head backwards.

Pygmy marmosets live in rainforests in South America.
There are lots of places to hide in a rainforest.
They do a lot of climbing because they like to eat tree sap. They cling to the side of a tree trunk and bite a hole in the bark. |
The tree sap oozes out of the hole. Then the marmosets lap it up with their tongues. The sap attracts insects. The marmosets eat the insects too!
