Mammals
Lots of mammals live on land but some mammals can fly and some live in the sea. Cats, dogs, bats and whales are all mammals.
Lots of different animals are mammals. We are mammals too!
Blue whales are sea mammals.
Bats are flying mammals.

Almost all mammals give birth to live young. Just 2 mammals lay eggs: the echidna (say ee-kid-na) and the duck-billed platypus.

Being warm-blooded means that an animal's body can keep itself warm. It gets warm by turning food into energy. Turning food into energy makes heat inside the body. So mammals can live in cold places.
Polar bears live in the Arctic. It is very cold there.
Puppies drink their mother's milk.
All sea mammals, such as whales and sea otters, must come up to the surface to breathe air with their lungs.
There are mammals that have pouches. They are called marsupials.
