Insects
All insects have:
Some insects crawl or jump.
A cricket can jump.
Some insects fly.
A butterfly can fly.

Lots of insects are small.
An ant is small but it is strong for its size.
But some insects are big.
An Atlas moth is as big as a bird!
All baby insects hatch from eggs.
Some baby insects look like grown-up insects. And some baby insects look different. They change as they grow up.
When a moth or a butterfly is a baby it is a caterpillar.

No insects have bones inside them. Their hard outer shell protects their soft body.
This beetle has a hard outer shell.
Some insects have colours that help them to hide.
A bark mantis can hide on a tree.
Some insects can even glow in the dark!
A firefly can glow.
